Payment Options for your City Utility Bill

Utility Payment Options

CITY ORDINANCE 1640 7-402:  Utility Bills are due on the 5th.  The last day you can pay to avoid penalty is the 25th of each month before 4:30pm.  If the 25th falls on the weekend, the last day you can make a payment in the office or through mail delivery is the Friday before.  There are NO GRACE PERIODS.  We offer the following options to assist you.

Utility Payment Options

 

AUTOMATIC TRANSFER.  Payments can be automatically drafted from your local in state bank account on approximately the 8th of each month.

 

ELECTRIC BANKING.  Payments can be made using your bank website.  Remember the bills are due when we mail them on the 5th of each month, so the payment must reach us by the 25th  or before if it falls on the weekend or holiday to avoid penalty.

 

IN OFFICE.  Payments can be made in our office at 17 North Broadway Mon-Fri from 7:30-4:30pm in cash, check, money order, Visa or MasterCard.

 

NIGHT DEPOSIT.  Payments can be made after hours in the Night Deposit Box in front of the City Office by the South door entrance.  * Payments are not applied until the next business day.

 

ONLINE.  Payments can be made on line using our Website   http://www.cityofherington.com  You will need your utility account number and last amount paid for the initial set up.

 

TELEPHONE.  Payments can be made by calling the office at 785-258-2271 using your Visa or MasterCard. 

 

US MAIL.  Payments can be mailed and they must arrive by the 25th of the month to avoid the penalty.  If the 25th is on a weekend or holiday, the payment must be received in our office the previous business day.
